For fourteen years, Eagle-Gryphon Games has produced tabletop games that transport players to imaginary realms and bygone eras — from the fantasy-steampunk world of Clockwork Wars to the primeval swamps and forests of Triassic Terror.
The company has produced hundreds of board games and run dozens of successful Kickstarter projects. They credit their success to the passion and dedication of their community. “We only exist because people care about our games and our ability to continue to make games. That truth is not lost on us,” says Daniel Zayas, Eagle-Gryphon Games’ marketing director. “Community means everything to us.”
Eagle-Gryphon Games is constantly soliciting input and feedback from players, supporters, and fellow creators, Zayas says. So for Kickstarter Gold, they decided to revisit one of their best-loved fantasy worlds. In Fantastiqa: Rival Realms, players will go head-to-head as they summon mythical beasts and embark on “fantastiqal” quests, all while getting reaquainted with the enchanted realms of Fantastiqa, created by game designer Alf Seegert.
The most important thing any creator can do for their community is listen, Zayas says. “Build a community around your project and listen to what they have to say. Receive feedback and criticism gracefully. When you listen, you improve.”
